About
UB AIAA is an engineering club that offers students hands-on experience with real-world aerospace challenges. The main project is Design/Build/Fly (DBF), an international competition hosted by AIAA, Textron Aviation, and Raytheon. DBF challenges teams to design, build, and fly a custom radio-controlled aircraft that meets a unique set of mission requirements. The club holds several meetings throughout the academic year to design and manufacture their RC aircraft. These meetings can range from CADing molds and parts of the plane, running tests to choose the airfoil shape, and hands-on meetings where members can work with carbon fiber or other materials to build the plane.
