About
Our critique meetings are an opportunity for students to share their writing outside of class for peers to give feedback on! All discussions will be moderated. Students will submit one piece and up to three things they would like feedback on.
CWC Critique Rules:
Critique slots are first come, first serve. Submissions must be 10,000 words or less of original written content. No exceptions! (While we love and support fanfiction authors, transformative works demand prior knowledge that cannot be expected of every attending member.) Submissions must be in a readable format/font/etc. Please no eyestrain. (Our suggested format is the Shunn manuscript format, which is common for manuscript submissions.) Content warnings must be included at the top of your submission document. If there are no content warnings, write “No Content Warnings.” Please format these warnings in a simple comma-separated or bulleted list, indicating whether the content is mentioned, implied, or graphic whenever applicable. Submission documents must be linked in the sign-up sheet as well as sent to the critique host no later than three days before your slot. Failure to do so means forfeiture of your critique slot, and the next in line will be given the opportunity to move up. If you sign up for a critique slot, you are still expected to read and provide feedback to the other writers being critiqued on the same date. You must be present for the critique meeting you sign up for. If you are unable to attend for any reason, let the critique host know, and you will be moved to the next available slot. In an effort to allow everyone the opportunity to be critiqued, if there is high demand, please do not sign up for two critique meetings in a row. (This rule is more flexible–if empty slots are available, an announcement may be posted in the Discord.) Shunn manuscript format: (link below)
