About
Identifying the right journal can be challenging, especially with an ever-increasing number of journals and publishing options. This workshop will present some approaches, tools, and tips to help you identify quality journal venues. These same approaches, tools, and tips will also help maximize your research impact and avoid “predatory journals.” This workshop is for anyone interested in journal publishing, especially graduate students, faculty, and staff.
After attending this presentation, participants will be able to:
• Define the characteristics of quality journals.
• Distinguish between legitimate, reputable journals and “predatory journals.”
• Utilize various tools to identify and evaluate journals, as well as understand the limitations of such tools.
• Make strategic decisions on publication venues by critically evaluating journals and appraising their potential influence on your academic career.
If you need accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to be able to participate in this event, please contact David Hubbard (hubbardd@library.tamu.edu) to communicate your needs at least 5 business days prior to allow us to facilitate a reasonable accommodation.
