About
American University’s Police Department (AUPD) will be offering Krav Maga self-defense classes in the Fall 2026 semester. The classes are free and taught by certified self-defense instructors. The classes will provide information, tactics, and considerations which may be useful for various types of dangerous encounters. All members of the American University community, faculty/staff, and students, both current and alumni, are eligible to take the classes; there are no prerequisites or past experience required. Due to the overwhelming popularity of the classes, please sign up for only one class.
The classes marked “Women Specific” will be gender specific to those that identify as women and are trans-inclusive. The remaining classes will be gender neutral.
