About

Compassion for the planet - from the social neuroscience of empathy to the social neuroscience of climate action

🧍 Claus Lamm, Ph.D. 🏢 University of Vienna, Full Professor of Biological Psychology, with a specialization in Social, Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience 📅 Thursday, December 17, from 12p.m. - 1 p.m. (PST) 🔗 Register on Zoom here!

In my talk, I will highlight novel approaches and voice a call for action to leverage social neuroscience approaches for climate action and sustainability behavior. Drawing upon prior work on the neural bases of empathy and prosocial behavior, I will explore positive feedback loops from caring for nature and the planet to how nature-based interventions may help us deal with pain and adversity.
