About
Interested in serving the Iowa City community while earning volunteer hours? Join Device Advice at the Iowa City Senior Center!
Device Advice is a student organization dedicated to reducing the digital divide by helping older adults feel more confident using modern technology. During our weekly volunteer sessions, community members can receive one-on-one assistance with their technology questions. This may include setting up an account, making a video call, navigating a device, or learning how to use a specific application.
No prior technology experience is required. All you need is patience, a willingness to help, and the ability to work through questions alongside community members.
Volunteering is flexible, and you may participate as often as your schedule allows. Some students volunteer regularly, while others attend only one session per semester. Every contribution is appreciated, and each session is a meaningful opportunity to serve the community and gain volunteer experience.
During the fall semester, we will meet every Thursday, beginning September 10th, from 2-3pm at the Iowa City Senior Center, located at 28 S. Linn St.
