About
The Texas A&M Regional Center of Excellence in Cancer invites you to enjoy a unique style of TREC Seminar. Hosted in Rudder Tower, Room #701, on Thursday, November 12, TREC will highlight our two Judge’s Choice award winners from the 4th Annual TREC “Advances in Cancer Research” Symposium poster session back in April.
Hasara Abeygunaratne (Texas A&M Dept. Cell Biology & Genetics) is a fourth-year Ph.D. Candidate in Medical Sciences at the Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine, Texas A&M University. Her doctoral research investigates how microglial NF-κB-inducing kinase (NIK) regulates glioblastoma progression. At this seminar, we look forward to hearing about her work on “Microglial NF-κB-Inducing Kinase (NIK) Promotes Male-Biased Glioblastoma Tumor Pathogenesis”.
Dr. Alfredo Erazo-Oliveras (Texas A&M Dept. Nutrition) is an Associate Research Scientist in the Program in Integrative Nutrition & Complex Diseases. His current research focuses on investigating the effects of key driver oncogenes and membrane active dietaries (MADs) on stem cell signaling/homeostasis and colorectal carcinogenesis. At this seminar, we look forward to hearing about his work on “A Greasy “Tug of War”: Plasma Membrane-Centric Novel Mechanisms Describing The Effects Of Diet On The Wnt Signaling Pathway, Stemness and Carcinogenesis”.
Registration is not required for this seminar. Remote attendance can be accessed via the following Zoom link: (link below)
