About
Two Islands, One Table: Guyana + Trinidad is a Resident Assistant event hosted by me and fellow Resident Assistant Nate, designed to bring cultural awareness, community, and meaningful connections to Nassau. Through food, conversation, and shared experiences, residents will explore the rich and diverse cultures of Guyana and Trinidad.
During this event, we will prepare some of our favorite traditional Caribbean dishes and share recipes with residents so they can recreate these meals in the future. As we gather around the table to cook, eat, and connect, residents will have the opportunity to learn about our cultural backgrounds, discuss the traditions that make Caribbean culture unique, and discover how our cultures can share similarities while maintaining their own distinct identities.
Ultimately, this event aims to celebrate cultural diversity, encourage residents to embrace different perspectives, and foster a stronger sense of community through the universal language of food. By bringing two cultures together at one table, we hope to create an inviting space where residents can learn, share, and appreciate the beauty of Caribbean heritage.
