Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning - AI Teaching in Action

What happens when students and their audiences encounter generative AI not as an abstract topic, but as part of a live creative experience? This session uses a university opera production involving generative AI as a case example for exploring how experiential AI activities can support student learning. Drawing on survey findings, participant reflections, and the instructor’s teaching reflections, we will consider how direct engagement with AI shaped conversations about creativity, authorship, audience response, and technology’s role in the arts.
