The Land Returns: Film Screening and Q&A with Director Margaret Jacobs
Join us for a screening of The Land Returns, a documentary exploring the movement to return ancestral lands to Indigenous nations. The film examines how individuals, local governments, corporations, and environmental organizations are working alongside Native communities to restore Indigenous land ownership and reconnect nations with their homelands.
Through three stories of land return, the documentary follows the Pawnee Nation in Nebraska, including a private land donation supporting the Pawnee Seed Preservation Project; the Wiyot Tribe's repatriation of Tuluwat Island, a sacred island in Humboldt Bay; and the Arapaho and Cheyenne nations' ongoing efforts to reclaim ancestral lands along Colorado's Front Range.
Directed by Charles "Boots" Kennedye and Margaret Jacobs, The Land Returns offers an important look at the people, partnerships, and grassroots efforts advancing the Land Back movement.
Following the screening, stay for a Q&A with director Margaret Jacobs.
