About
CLS is welcoming Nathaniel Dick of the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina and James Long of Sister Cities of Durham for our largest UNC event of the fall.
Nathaniel Dick serves as Senior International Business Development Manager for Asia & Oceania at the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC), where his work sits directly at the intersection of international investment and North Carolina’s economy.
James Long will bring a local perspective through Durham’s relationship with Kunshan, China. Durham formally adopted its sister-city agreement with Kunshan in 2024, creating another channel for engagement between North Carolina and China outside traditional national diplomacy.
Together, their perspectives will anchor a broader conversation about why China matters to the United States in trade, manufacturing, supply chains, foreign investment, and the broader cultural relationship between American and Chinese communities.
The event will include a fireside chat, followed by an open Q&A and a meet-and-greet with complimentary food. This event is open to anyone affiliated with UNC or Duke. No background in Chinese or business is needed.
Come for Chinese dinner and the chance to win Tokyo Express and Tea Hill vouchers.
