About
On November 18th, 1626, 400 years ago, Pope Urban VIII Maffeo Barberini consecrated St. Peter’s Basilica completing the more than one hundred years of construction begun during the Renaissance under Pope Julius II Giuliano della Rovere.
This lecture will take our “alumni students” on a virtual tour of the Basilica from the early first century burial place of St. Peter to today’s seat of the Roman Catholic Church tracing the building’s construction and the “successors of Peter” to our very own Pope from Chicago.
