About
In honor of Native American Heritage Month, all WSU students are welcome to a special campus gathering. This OIP-sponsored global cafe pairs a traditional Thanksgiving luncheon with a relaxed, self-paced pottery studio. This drop-in event invites you to grab some clay and freely create whatever you would like - whether that is a traditional pinch pot, a unique sculpture or an everyday keepsake bowl. While you sculpt, you can enjoy a free Thanksgiving meal and browse information highlighting the deep-rooted Indigenous history of harvest giving and the ancestral origins of clay hand-building techniques across early North American tribal communities. All necessary crafting clay and styling tools are provided while supplies last, and no prior art or pottery experience is required to hang out and create.
