About
You’ve got your research question—now, how do you actually find the sources you need? With hundreds of databases available, where should you start, and how do you know if you’re searching effectively?
Join librarians as we tackle these challenges in our Find Research Materials Workshop. We’ll demystify the database landscape, distinguishing between broad discovery tools like BruKnow and discipline-specific databases tailored to your field. You’ll practice translating your own keywords into the controlled vocabulary that databases use, and learn to identify “seed articles” that can anchor and expand your research.
This workshop is designed to help undergraduate researchers develop strategic, efficient search skills and is part of a four-part series for students in the early stages of thesis work or those looking to strengthen their approach before the next phase of their project.
Event registration is preferred. Please contact micah_saxton@brown.edu with any questions.
