About
What happens when public communication becomes a tool for democratic participation? Join Camille Zapata, Governor Gavin Newsom’s Director of Digital Strategy, for a wide-ranging panel conversation about social media, political storytelling and the First Amendment.
Alongside a social media influencer and a Chicanx advocate, Zapata will discuss the opportunities and responsibilities that come with shaping public narratives in a digital age. The conversation will explore how online platforms can challenge power, amplify cultural voices and make political discourse more immediate, accessible and accountable — offering insight into both the professional and cultural dimensions of Zapata’s work.
This is open to all SJSU faculty and staff. RSVP here.
Supported in part by a College of Humanities and the Arts Artistic Excellence Programming Grant.
