About

The Galileo Hackathon is a hands-on AI for Science event hosted by UC San Diego's Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute, powered by SIDERIUS autonomous AI agents. No AI or coding experience needed. On Challenge Day, teams of 1 to 3 solve scientific tasks revealed that day. GPU access (up to 2 hours of H100 per team) and LLM credits are provided on a first come, first served basis. Lunch is provided in person. Award winners receive a $70 Amazon gift card. A separate online Task Design Track runs Nov 4 to 18 (individual entries). Open to students, faculty, and researchers at U.S. universities and research institutions. Registration closes Nov 15, 2026, 11:59 pm PST. This event is also online / virtual; the UC San Diego venue is to be announced.
