A shadow is never quite the shape of what casts it. It stretches, bends, and distorts with the movement of light, transforming the body into something unfamiliar and seemingly threatening. This studio editorial uses harsh lighting, sculptural clothing, and warped shadows to exaggerate the modelsʼ forms into intimidating silhouettes that no longer resemble the figures creating them. Yet the body behind each shadow remains soft and vulnerable, revealing the distance between appearance and reality. By contrasting the model with their distorted silhouette, the editorial explores how easily fear can be created by what we cannot fully see. What happens when the body becomes unrecognizable in its own shadow—and which version do we choose to believe?
