About
Join SoDA and the AWS Student Builder Group on Saturday, November 7 10am-4pm for a full-day bootcamp built around one goal: helping you build a complete application with cloud services and walk away ready for SunHacks. Whether you have never opened a terminal or you have a few internships behind you, the bootcamp is designed so you leave with something real.
The purpose is to give students hands-on experience building and deploying software the way professional teams do. SoDA and AWS will host three tracks, so you can pick the path that fits your skill level and interests. By the end of the bootcamp, every participant will have a full-fledged application built on cloud services, along with the workflow and confidence to build quickly and well under hackathon conditions. Instead of spending SunHacks figuring out tools for the first time, you will arrive with a working foundation, a project you understand, and teammates you have already met.
This event improves the ASU student experience in a few concrete ways. It gives students a practical, current skill that employers are asking for, and it does so in a beginner-friendly environment where newcomers do not need to feel behind. It prepares students to compete at SunHacks with real cloud experience, which makes the hackathon more approachable and more rewarding. It connects students across two organizations who might not otherwise meet, which builds the kind of community that leads to project teams, study groups, and mentorship. And it is free and open to everyone, with breakfast provided, so cost is never a barrier to getting started in tech. --- Event Details: (link below)
