Publishing Lifecycle and Open Access: Kicking in the Rotting Door
Thursday, November 19, 4–5 p.m., online
Scholarship is a conversation, but traditional publishing models can place research behind paywalls, limiting access and engagement beyond the academy. This workshop will introduce graduate students to the open access movement, including the benefits of making research more accessible, the connection between open access and authors’ rights and options for opening their own work. A Q&A will follow the presentation.
This workshop is part of a monthly series presented by UC Libraries in partnership with the Graduate College.
Presenter: Melissa Moreau, Scholarly Communications Librarian, UC Libraries
