About

The Earth and Environmental Science Club will host GIS Day 2026, an educational event celebrating Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geospatial technology. The event will introduce students and the campus community to the ways GIS is used to analyze geographic data, create maps, solve real-world problems, and support careers in environmental science, urban planning, emergency management, public health, and other fields.

The program will feature a special guest speaker who is a GIS professional, student GIS poster presentations, interactive GIS activities and games, and prizes for activity winners. The event will provide students with an opportunity to showcase their work, learn about GIS careers, connect with professionals, and better understand how mapping and spatial analysis are used in their communities.
