About
The K-State ART 180 Color, Light, and Perception Lab classes have partnered with Marlatt Elementary School for a collaborative art exhibition celebrating creativity, imagination, and artistic exchange across generations. Inspired by the vibrant Alebrije artwork created by Marlatt students, K-State students developed their own gouache paintings of personally meaningful hybrid animals, drawing on the bold colors, imaginative forms, and rich symbolism of Oaxacan Alebrijes. The exhibition highlights how the elementary students’ artwork served as a creative starting point for K-State artists to explore personal identity, symbolism, and expressive color while celebrating the connections formed through a shared artistic experience.
