Title: Agrivoltaics: Combining Photovoltaics with Agriculture, where Engineers meet farmers
Abstract Summary:
This talk explores agrivoltaics (Agri-PV)—combining solar photovoltaics with agriculture—against the backdrop of rapidly growing global solar capacity and improving silicon and tandem cell efficiencies. Dr. Kurinec will present PV system designs for farmland integration, including elevated fixed-tilt and tracking panel configurations, vertical bifacial fence-like arrays, and floating photovoltaics on water bodies, emphasizing the collaboration needed between engineers and farmers. She will also touch on future trends in transparent PV and AI/ML-driven system planning and monitoring.
