Bronco Percussion Group Fall concert

About

Date: Monday, November 9, 2026 Time: 7:30 PM

Experience the incredible range of percussion at the Bronco Percussion Group’s Annual Fall Concert, featuring a program that moves from intimate, experimental sound worlds to virtuosic rhythmic energy. Alyssa Weinberg’s Ember explores shifting colors and timbres, transforming the familiar snare drum into an unexpectedly delicate and resonant sound source. Evan Chapman’s Second Thoughts brings a playful, theatrical character to the stage, while Rüdiger Pawassar’s Sculpture in Wood blends jazz-inspired harmonies, melodies, and rhythms. Josh Gottry’s Triskaidekaphobia embraces the number 13 through shifting ostinatos, rhythmic groupings, and energetic ensemble gestures and Aurél Holló’s José / beFORe JOHN5draws on flamenco, Spanish, Arabic, and African influences, combining virtuosic marimba writing with an array of colorful percussion instruments. The program will feature a large scale percussion orchestra work, Francisco Perez’s Nalu, a musical portrait of the ocean using syncopation, hocketing, and minimalist-inspired patterns to evoke waves ranging from delicate and serene to powerful and turbulent. Together, these works showcase percussion as a remarkably diverse medium—full of color, rhythm, theatricality, global influences, and explosive energy.
