About
oin PIJIP for the 15th Annual Peter A. Jaszi Distinguished Lecture on Intellectual Property, featuring our very own Professor Robert J. Kasunic, who will present “Policing the Boundaries of Copyright: How Registration Improves the Development of the Copyright System.”
Professor Kasunic’s lecture will examine the role of copyright registration and examination in the development of copyright law. The lecture will explore how the examination process engages with complex questions of copyrightability and authorship; including whether new and emerging forms of creative expression, from perfumes and DNA sequences to generative AI outputs, fall within the boundaries of copyright protection.
PIJIP’s Distinguished Lecture on Intellectual Property Law is named in recognition of the continuing contributions of Professor Peter A. Jaszi to the study of intellectual property at WCL, in the world at large, and in particular for his lasting contributions to the elevation of the public interest in intellectual property discourse.
