When you work out, your muscles only grow if you push against real resistance. Too little weight and nothing happens. Too much weight with bad form and you get hurt instead of stronger. A good trainer knows how much struggle a body can handle and still grow from. Learning works the same way. This session argues that a lot of assignments let students skip the hard part and still turn in something that looks fine. If we want students to actually get stronger, we have to build assignments the same way a good workout plan is built.
