About
We are proud to introduce Wolves RISE, UWG’s new Collegiate Recovery Community dedicated to supporting students and community members on their recovery journeys. Rooted in connection, resilience, and empowerment, Wolves RISE is committed to building a campus culture where recovery is understood, supported, and celebrated.
As part of this mission, we are excited to offer Recovery Ally Training this fall. This free certification program equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to support individuals experiencing substance use and mental health challenges. Through this training, participants will learn how to recognize signs of concern, respond with empathy, and connect individuals to appropriate resources—helping to create a more supportive and recovery-friendly UWG community. Participants who complete the full training series will receive a Recovery Ally Certificate. The program includes: • QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) – Suicide prevention training that equips participants to recognize warning signs and respond effectively
• Mental Health First Aid – Practical tools to identify, understand, and respond to mental health and substance use concerns
• Naloxone (Narcan) Training – Education on recognizing and responding to opioid overdoses, including how to administer Narcan
This training is open to UWG students, faculty, and staff who want to be more informed and prepared to support recovery in their workplace, classroom, family, and community.
