Volunteer with Vintage Values

About

Join us as we volunteer with Vintage Values at their University Landing location! During this shift, we will assist with staging, styling, sorting, and unboxing new clothing donations.

A representative from the CARE office on campus will also be joining us to provide some information and education at the beginning of the volunteer shift.

Here is a synopsis of their work and mission: UNCW Campus Advocacy, Resources and Education (CARE) is the confidential resource dedicated to preventing and intervening on a broad spectrum of violent behaviors, including sexual assault, relationship abuse, stalking, harassment and exploitation. CARE’s confidential advocates respond to students, faculty and staff who have been impacted by interpersonal violence by providing supportive services including 24-hour crisis response, advocacy and accompaniment, and coordination with both on-campus and off-campus resources. CARE additionally offers a comprehensive variety of violence prevention programs, trainings, and educational campaigns for the UNCW campus including healthy relationship skills-building, bystander intervention trainings and annual awareness-raising events. As we work to eradicate overt and covert expressions of violence, we actively promote the continuing development of a campus environment characterized by support and respect.

Vintage Values is a thrift store offering clothing, household items, and furniture, with proceeds directly supporting the domestic violence shelter. Their mission is to work toward the elimination of domestic violence and provide emergency and support services to victims in need.
