About
The UTS School of Social Work PEERS Virtual Clinic is offering a free four-week virtual peer support series for UTA students focused on Grief and Loss. The series is designed to give students support for navigating difficult life experiences and a structured space to pause, reflect, connect with peers, and practice strategies related to grief and loss.
The four session topics are:
Understanding Grief and Loss: How to Identify it and Types of Grief and Loss
Feeling the Feels: Naming Emotions, Acceptance, and Phases of Grief
Processing Grief and Loss: Identity Shifts and Life Transitions
How to Move Forward: Meaning Making and Continuing Bonds
Together as a group, we’ll navigate through grief and loss: learning to identify grief and understand it, name and accept the emotions that come along with it, and process the changes that happen to us and within us through losses of all kinds. We’ll round out the series with a session on meaning making and moving forward, sharing strategies along the way to navigate life through loss.
Sessions are fully virtual and will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:00 pm, 3:00pm, and 6:00 pm (Central Standard Time). We recommend attending one session each week of the series to get the most out of this resource, so please choose whatever time works best for your schedule!
The series is open to all UTA students and begins Tuesday, October 27th, 2026, and runs until November 19th. Please register to receive updates and meeting links by scanning the QR code on the attached flyer or by using the link below. We will also add you to our Teams Channel to receive session reminders, weekly check-ins, and more opportunities to connect with your peers (just like you would if you were sitting next to your friend in class)!
