A conversation with:
Max Stier, Founding president and CEO of the nonpartisan, nonprofit Partnership for Public Service.
Patrick Gallagher, Distinguished Professor - Department of Physics and Astronomy and former Chancellor, University of Pittsburgh.
Our democracy depends on our government’s ability to effectively serve the public and fulfill vital functions that only it can, such as veterans’ care, disaster response, food safety, defense from threats, protecting public health and so much more. The recent sledgehammer approach to dismantling federal government agencies and their workforce, while unprecedented, presents an opportunity to create conditions for change and develop reforms, so that government is trusted by its citizens to work as intended, advancing the public good.
Join us for a special conversation exploring the path forward with Max Stier, CEO and President of the Partnership for Public Service and Patrick Gallagher, former Chancellor of the University of Pittsburgh; former Director of the National Institute for Standards and Technology and Acting U.S. Secretary of Commerce.
Refreshments will be available.
