About
After decades of close partnership, relations between Taiwan and the United States have been unpredictable in recent years. Both nations elected leaders with strong wills and opinions two years ago; now, those presidents are facing challenging midterm elections. What is the state of play in U.S.-Taiwan relations, and how might the November elections in each country affect the ties between them? How do Taiwan’s soaring economy and the ever-present tension with the People’s Republic of China play into the two sides’ relationship?
On Thursday, November 19 at 7:00 pm join Dr. Shelley Rigger, Brown Professor of East Asian Politics and Vice President for Academic Affairs/Dean of Faculty at Davidson College, for a Mansfield Dialogue on the state of U.S.-Taiwan ties at a moment of change. Available exclusively virtually via Microsoft TEAMS.
