What does it mean to be an ally to someone in recovery?
Join us for Recovery Ally Training, an interactive session designed to increase understanding of substance use and recovery, reduce stigma, and help participants develop practical skills for supporting individuals who are in or seeking recovery.
Participants will learn more about recovery-supportive language, common misconceptions surrounding substance use, and ways to help create a more welcoming and recovery-friendly campus community. No prior knowledge or experience is needed—just a willingness to learn and support others.
Featured Presenter
Samantha McIntyre, MA, CYAPSS Director of Collegiate Recovery, Tennessee Association of Mental Health Organizations (TAMHO)
Samantha’s work focuses on substance use recovery and harm reduction. She is active in the recovery community and brings experience working and volunteering in rehabilitation settings and providing peer recovery support.
Come learn how small changes in our language, attitudes, and actions can make a meaningful difference for people in recovery.
