About
"Methods for Place, the Patient Voice, and Scale in Cancer Outcomes Research"
About the Speaker: Kelly Kenzik, Ph.D.
Dr. Kelly Kenzik is an epidemiologist and health services researcher who applies advanced epidemiologic and statistical methods to questions in cancer care delivery and patient-centered outcomes. She is Associate Director of the Patient-Reported Outcomes, Value, and Experience (PROVE) Center at Mass General Brigham in the Department of Surgery; previously she was Associate Chair for Research in the Department of Surgery at Boston University/Boston Medical Center and has also held faculty appointments at University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her work spans patient-reported outcomes, healthcare utilization and costs, surgical outcomes, and population-level cancer outcomes, drawing on psychometrics and latent variable modeling, causal inference and effect decomposition, multilevel models, and quasi-experimental designs. Her National Cancer Institute–funded research examines geographic variation in cancer mortality and the community- and county-level factors behind it. She mentors trainees and early-career investigators across oncology, surgery, epidemiology, and health services research.
