RECESS is Clemson’s annual Research and Creative Endeavors in the Sports Sciences Symposium, bringing together students, faculty, industry professionals, and community partners to showcase innovation across motorsports, human performance, and sports science.

AGENDA

Tuesday, November 10 - Motorsports Day (3-7 PM)

Motorsports Day will take place at CU-ICAR and will feature Clemson’s work in automotive research, innovation, branding, marketing, and racing.

Highlights will include:

• Welcome and opening remarks and recognitions

• Panel discussion on motorsports marketing and events, including perspectives on Michelin’s marketing strategy and branding and additional industry expertise

• Technical panel featuring representatives from different areas within the motorsports world

• Networking, student organization features, and light refreshments

Wednesday, November 11 - Human Performance Day (11 AM-7 PM)

Human Performance Day, in a partnership with Clemson Athletics, will showcase Clemson’s interdisciplinary approach to athletics, sports science, medicine, nutrition, recovery, and performance innovation.

Highlights will include:

• Tour of the Watt Performance and Wellness Center

• Tour of the Athletic Recovery Center

• Panel discussion on data-informed performance with perspectives from strength and conditioning, sports science, sports medicine, sports nutrition, physician leadership, and human performance innovation

• Student experience panel featuring baseball analytics, Clemson Ventures, sports nutrition, and performance science interns

• Keynote presentation by Spencer Strider, pitcher for the Atlanta Braves and Clemson Baseball Alum
