About
Speaker: Tapan Mukerji Professor (Research) of Energy Science Engineering, of Earth and Planetary Sciences and of Geophysics, Stanford University
Abstract: The talk will present our current explorations in applying quantum computing to geophysical problems such as wave propagation computation and seismic inversion. Both quantum annealers and gate-based quantum computers will be discussed. The challenges of the current noisy, intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) era will be described.
