An Evening Celebrating Storytelling, Literacy, and Community

Join the Kansas City Public Library and the University of Missouri-Kansas City for the 11th annual Writers for Readers, an inspiring evening that brings nationally renowned authors to Kansas City while directly supporting access to creative writing and literacy education across our community.

This year, Joyce Carol Oates headlines the evening. Following dinner and drinks, she discusses her storied career with author Whitney Terrell and answers audience questions. Guests will experience an unforgettable literary event while investing in the power of storytelling.
