About
Description:
What does it mean to have reliable access to nutritious food, and why does hunger persist? Join Dr. Joseph W. Dorsey from USF’s Patel College of Global Sustainability to explore the connections among nutrition, hunger, and food security. Held during National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, this session includes a presentation and open discussion about food access, community challenges, and opportunities to make a positive impact.
At the conclusion of this program, students who actively engage will be able to:
Define hunger, nutrition, and food security. Identify basic factors that affect access to affordable, nutritious food. Describe how food insecurity affects individuals and communities. Summarize strategies for addressing hunger and supporting food security. List ways students can help address food insecurity on campus or in their community. --- Event Details: (link below)
