About
Join our weekly Food Recovery events, where dedicated volunteers and members gather to make a difference in our community. Each week, participants help collect perfectly good leftover food from Gourmet Dining and transport it to Blanton. There, the food is repackaged into individual microwavable containers and stocked in the food pantry, providing meals for those in need throughout the week.
To Participate: RSVP to attend the event each week. Meet in Blanton Hall Residence Hall Kitchenette in the Communal Area (Tell them you are working with Food Recovery), Sign in via Event Pass and your set!
Requirements:
• Volunteers must be Food Safe Certified to participate.
• Complete the certification by following the step-by-step instructions provided in this link.
• Once certified, email your certification to foodrecoverynetwork@sgamsu.org to confirm your eligibility to participate.
Your involvement helps reduce food waste and insecurity while supporting individuals in our community who are in need. We look forward to your participation!
*Please Note: This event end time is dependent on the amount of food given. You can estimate for max of hour and a half for recoveries.
