About
Join the UCCS Department of Technical Communication & Information Design (TCID) and Kraemer Family Library for our annual World Usability Day celebration! This year's event also marks the mid-season celebration of Designing Augmented Futures, the library's digital exhibit exploring the intersections of technology, creativity, and human experience. Learn more about the mid-season run for Designing Augmented Futures here: (link below)
This free, interactive event brings together students, faculty, industry professionals, and community members to explore how usability, user experience (UX), and human-centered design shape the technologies and experiences around us through a variety of demonstrations and activities:
- AI-Enabled Robots: Interact with conversational AI robots and explore the possibilities and challenges of human–AI interaction. - Cybersecurity VR Experience: Try an interactive virtual reality game developed by UCCS cybersecurity students. - Eye-Tracking & Gaming: Discover how researchers use eye-tracking technology to study attention, behavior, and user experience. - Designing Augmented Futures: Explore the library's digital exhibit and hear about the creative ideas, emerging technologies, and design questions behind the featured projects. - Experience Studio: Meet TCID students conducting real-world UX research, usability testing, and design projects with community partners. - Student UX Projects: Learn how students apply UX methods through interdisciplinary collaborations and community-engaged projects. - UX Industry Perspectives: Hear about professional UX practice, emerging trends, and the changing landscape of the field. - Interactive UX Challenge: Put your own problem-solving and human-centered design skills to the test!
Food, drinks, and giveaways will be provided!
Whether you're interested in UX, artificial intelligence, digital creativity, cybersecurity, or simply curious about how technology can be designed to better serve people, there's something for everyone. No previous experience is necessary!
