Learning Outcomes
Residents will be able to:
• Reflect on their personal values and strengths through guided gratitude and self-assessment activities.
• Engage in collaborative leadership by contributing to a positive and supportive community environment.
• Apply self-awareness and interpersonal skills to foster inclusion and connection within their residential and academic communities.
Program Description
Through the curriculum of Learn – Collaborative Leadership, Residents will have the opportunity to participate in Thanks & Tacos Night, an interactive event focused on self-assessment and community connection. While enjoying tacos from Jack in the Box, Residents will reflect on their own leadership qualities by identifying moments or people they are thankful for and how those experiences have influenced their personal growth. A “Wall of Thanks” will allow Residents to share their gratitude publicly, recognizing others’ contributions and reinforcing the importance of building a supportive, connected community. Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) will collaborate on this program by providing residents with information about mental health resources, emotional well-being, and the importance of practicing gratitude and self-care. This collaboration will help residents become more aware of campus support services while encouraging personal growth and a supportive community environment. All funds will go toward purchasing Jack in the Box tacos as an incentive and community-building element for Residents participating in the program.
