Juice House Weekly Origami Meeting Fall 2026

About

The Juice House Origami Blend is the first organized origami group in the city of Toledo. We believe paper folding is far more than a childhood craft — it sharpens spatial reasoning and geometry as a hands-on STEM tool, and it underlies serious work in deployable aerospace structures, medical devices, robotics and DNA nanotechnology. In the Origami Blend, we fold, learn and design together across the intersection of art, mathematics and science. Our weekly gatherings blend casual, destressing folding with tutorials, free-fold collections and semester-themed group projects bound for campus and regional exhibitions. On top of that, students gain educational experiences in applications such as protein folding and in large-scale art and architecture design inspired by origami structures. We also showcase our work publicly, most recently in Creased in Light, Toledo's first origami exhibition, hosted at Carlson Library.

Whether you've never made a paper crane or you fold competition-level models, consider joining us! You'll learn techniques from entry-level to advanced, design your own original creations, work at the meeting point of fine art and the sciences, see your pieces exhibited to the campus and the Toledo community — and above all, unwind, have fun and make lasting friends around the folding table.

Date & Time: Thursdays 5:00 - 7:00 pm

Location: Carlson Library Room 2024
