About
What does it take to become a writer for theatre or tv? Join us Homecoming Weekend for a candid conversation about finding your way into the industry and making a creative career on your own terms.
The Suraj Israni Center for Cinematic Arts in partnership with Alumni Relations presents "Write Your Way In: Triton Alumnae Talk Writing for Theatre and TV." This panel event features four special guest presenters: Lisa Portes, Naomi Iizuka, Vivian Barnes and Alison Tatlock.
From the stage to the writers’ room, these artists have helped shape stories across theatre and some of today’s most acclaimed television, including Better Call Saul, Stranger Things, The Sympathizer, Tokyo Vice, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, Pluribus, and The Five Star Weekend. You've watched the shows—now meet the people who write them.
Hear how they got their start, navigated unexpected turns, and built careers across different corners of the entertainment industry—and what they wish they’d known when they were students. Whether you're already pursuing a career in the arts or simply curious about what happens behind the stories you watch and love, this conversation offers a rare chance to hear directly from working writers and creators.
