About
How can learning Russian deepen our understanding of history and the world?
Join Dr. Peter Kuznick, Professor of History and Director of the Nuclear Studies Institute at American University, for a conversation exploring his historical research, including his work with Academy Award-winning filmmaker Oliver Stone and his nomination of 2024 Nobel Peace Prize winners Nihon Hidankyo, his long and fruitful experiences collaborating with colleagues in Russia and the importance of cross-cultural understanding.
His visit offers students an opportunity to explore how language study can open doors to research, meaningful conversations and a deeper understanding of relations between the United States and Russia. For students of Russian, this is a chance to connect classroom learning with important historical and global questions.
Co-presented with the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures
