New Friendsgiving: Meet Your Campus Community

In this program, residents will participate in a Friendsgiving-themed social event designed to help them meet new people, build friendships, and discover extracurricular activities on campus. In collaboration with Campus Recreation, residents will learn about opportunities such as intramural sports, group fitness classes, outdoor adventures, and other recreational activities that allow them to connect with students who share similar interests. Residents will participate in interactive icebreakers, including Friendsgiving games, to encourage conversation and help them find shared interests with other residents. Residents will also create a personal campus involvement goal by identifying at least one activity they would like to try and someone they could invite to join them. The program will conclude with Thanksgiving-themed foods and an opportunity for residents to socialize in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Learning Outcomes • Residents will be able to identify at least three campus resources or extracurricular opportunities that can help them meet new people and become more involved in campus life.

• Residents will develop social connections with peers by identifying shared interests and participating in activities that encourage communication and community building.

• Residents will create a personal involvement goal by selecting at least one campus activity they would like to participate in and identifying a next step toward getting involved.
