Parallax invites us to consider how our understanding of the world shifts when we change our point of view. Rooted in the scientific principle that objects appear differently depending on one’s position, this concert explores the dynamic relationship between movement, perception, and space.
Through dance, we examine how perspective shapes what we see, feel, and believe. As bodies move through space, they create shifting angles, revealing new meanings and uncovering hidden connections. No single viewpoint tells the whole story. Each perspective adds depth, complexity, and possibility.
Featuring original works by CSUDH dance faculty and guest artists, Fernando Carrillo, and David Beranl-Fuentes, Parallax highlights a range of voices and experiences. Together, these works reflect the ever-changing nature of our shared humanity, reminding us that understanding emerges not from a fixed position, but from our willingness to see from another point of view.
