The NIH K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award is one of the most powerful mechanisms for launching an independent research career. In this session, a K99/R00 awardee will discuss what the award is, how it differs from other K mechanisms, and why it's worth the considerable effort. The conversation will span eligibility, the application itself, and navigating the transition from the mentored K99 to the independent R00 phase. A panel of K99/R00 recipients will share diverse perspectives and answer your questions. Attendees are encouraged to submit questions in advance so the session can be tailored to their needs.
