Butter Believe It!

About

Think butter is just butter? Butter believe it isn't!

Join us for Butter Believe It!, an immersive, hands-on workshop exploring the history, science, production and culinary uses of one of the world’s most beloved foods.

Participants will learn how cream transforms during churning, explore the chemistry behind butter-making and compare a variety of butter styles, including salted and unsalted, cultured and sweet cream, grass-fed and conventional, and European and American varieties.

Then, roll up your sleeves and get churning. Hands-on activities will include traditional jar butter-making, stand mixer butter production, butter washing and shaping with wooden paddles, compound butter creation, butter tasting and fresh buttermilk ranch dressing preparation.

Participants will also take home cultured butter, handcrafted compound butter, traditional wooden butter paddles, homemade buttermilk ranch dressing, a butter culture tablet and workshop materials featuring recipes and butter-making instructions. Lunch and refreshments are included.
