About
Please join the School of Visual Communication for an exhibit and lecture featuring two leading sports photographers, Maddie Meyer, BSVC '15, and Sarah Stier, BSVC '18, both Getty Images Staff Photographers. This event is being held in conjunction with VisCom’s new sports photography certification, equipping students with the creative and strategic skills needed for careers in the sports industry. Designed for individuals passionate about sports and media, the program provides a strong foundation in branding, digital content creation, fan engagement, and sponsorship marketing.
Meyer is a staff photographer for Getty Images based in Boston, Mass. Her regular assignments include covering New England professional sport teams: the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics. She has photographed the Olympic games in Rio and Pyeongchang, The Men's and Women's World Cups, and the FINA World Swimming Championships.
Stier is a staff sports photographer for Getty Images based in New York City. She specializes in photographing boxing and aquatics, focusing on telling the complete story, capturing split seconds of emotion from start to finish.
The artist talk will be Nov. 18, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. in Schoonover Center 145.
The exhibit will be on display in the VisCom Gallery from Nov. 11, 2026 through Jan. 9, 2027.
