About
This volunteer opportunity acts as onboarding and training to join the regular volunteer trail crew. The work, while rewarding and in beautiful locations, is physically demanding and is often performed on steep, uneven terrain. The volunteer trail crew performs skilled trail construction under the guidance and supervision of City staff.
With volunteers' consistent support, the Ranger Service can keep multiple trail projects oging simultaneously and build more trail!
Meet at the End of Lizzie St. across from French Hospital. Shifts run from 8am-12pm. Bring water, a snack and gloves if you have them. Liong sleeves, long pants, a hat and sturdy shoes are recommended. It is about a 45 min hike to the worksite: be prepared for a strenuous day. Questions? Ask Ranger Niels Grether at ngrether@slocity.org or 805 440 5454
All individuals regardless of age will need two things at minimum: an Engage SLO profile and Volunteer Waiver completed. Please contact volunteer@slocity.org with any questions at least 10 business days in advance of scheduled workday.
