About
What happens when people whose lives rarely intersect come together around a shared table?
Join us for a special screening of At a Stranger’s Table, a documentary following H-2A farmworkers in eastern North Carolina from the fields to a shared meal with members of the local community.
Told through the workers’ own voices, the film explores labor, family, separation, and dignity while inviting audiences to consider the connections that can emerge through conversation and shared experiences. Around the table, people separated by language, culture, and circumstance come together to listen, exchange stories, and find common ground.
Following the screening, stay for a conversation with artists Cornelio Campos and Sally Jacobs, and filmmaker Scott Temple, moderated by Isabela Lujan. Together, they will explore the film’s themes of community, identity, and the power of storytelling to deepen our understanding of one another.
Thursday, November 12 | 6:30–8 PM Reception Hall $10 Members / $15 Not-Yet Members / Free for Students
