About

Wujdan Ahmad (SRU Class of 2015), the Coordinator of New American Affairs for the City of Erie, PA, will discuss her work supporting Erie’s New Americans. Drawing on her experience as a refugee, community advocate, and local government leader, she will discuss Erie’s 2026 Welcoming City Ordinance, the community’s role in ending the county’s ICE contract, and the city’s Language Access Plan. She will also discuss her emerging role as a certified Welcoming Cities auditor nationwide and how her work connects local government with Erie’s increasingly diverse communities.
